What are the differences between dianabol or anadrol (also known as Dbol) and Oximetolone (also known as Oxy)? We talk about the two most popular oral steroids for building muscle mass, and we examine the details.
Anadrol and Dianabol These are the classic oral steroids used to build heavy, solid muscle mass. If DBol was Arnold’s steroid of choice for bulking up in the 1970s, oxymetholone (Anadrol, to be precise) was one of the reasons behind the mass monsters of the 1990s, such as Dorian Yates and the King, Ronnie Coleman.
Many people use them on their own in standalone cycles because oral steroids appear less intimidating than injectable ones. We do not recommend using oral steroids alone without at least a foundation of injectable testosterone. Oral steroids tend to be more harmful than injectable ones because they pass through the liver twice, and neither Anadrol nor DBol is an exception.
Are there differences between Anadrol and DBol, or do they function interchangeably?
Anadrol (Oxy) and Dianabol (DBol or Metandrostene) are two different molecules, even though the final results may be comparable.
Anadrol, at equal doses, produces slightly better results in terms of mass and strength than DBol. In terms of aesthetics, Anadrol gives better results because, being a DHT derivative, it does not aromatize as much as Dianabol, yielding a less watery and more defined look. These better results come at the price of greater toxicity and more side effects. DBol carries heavy side effects too.
Application, benefits, and results obtained with Dianabol and Anadrol
Both products have a short half-life, so they require almost daily intake. Protocols that recommended taking Anadrol or DBol twice a day every day are outdated. Due to the high toxicity of these two products, it works best to take DBol or Oxy on alternate days or only on days with more intense workouts. Anadrol in particular produces an incredible increase in strength. This can benefit very heavy workouts or training body parts that lag behind. Taking Anadrol or Dbol pre-workout only on the days requiring a hard push optimizes the final result while limiting side effects.
Used correctly and combined with a targeted high-calorie diet, Anadrol and DBol result in weight gains. Part of this comes from increased muscle mass, while another part stems from the water retention caused by both steroids. Anadrol tends to drive water into the muscle, whereas Dianabol causes generalized water retention, which lacks visual appeal (which explains why It is NEVER used (DBol in cutting cycles, while Anadrol may have its uses)
Toxicity and side effects of Dianabol and Anadrol
Both steroids are oral medications considered to be highly toxic, so the liver takes heavy strain from these two products. Using these two steroids for overly long and continuous periods remains discouraged. Although they work through different mechanisms, both active ingredients cause water retention. Anadrol retains water primarily within the muscle in the form of glycogen due to its high androgenic activity. Dianabol retains water throughout the body, including subcutaneously, due to aromatization (similar to testosterone). This leads to sudden weight gain that raises blood pressure. While taking either product, monitor your blood pressure and undergo regular blood tests, paying attention to your complete blood count and liver enzymes.
NEVER USE THESE PRODUCTS TOGETHER, AND NEVER USE THEM WITH OTHER HIGHLY TOXIC STEROIDS (such as Trenbolone or high doses of Boldenone Durabolin)
Anadrol is more powerful than Dianabol and carries more severe side effects. DBol is often preferred by less experienced athletes for this reason.
Due to their high hepatotoxicity, these two steroids (especially Oxy) can cause a loss of appetite. If this occurs, stop taking them until your appetite returns. Without proper nutrition, you lose the benefits of these two products.
Final evaluation of both compounds
Which is better, Dianabol or Anadrol? If your goal concerns raw results, Anadrol proves superior in every category: more mass gained, better utilization of protein and carbohydrates (read: more anabolic), much more strength, and less excess subcutaneous water. Aesthetic results are not the only factor to consider when dealing with two products that are harmful to our metabolism. In this situation, DBol may be a better option because it provides slightly lower results alongside fewer side effects. The choice remains yours.
