Growth hormone is the hottest product right now in the world of bodybuilding, and Lilly Humatrope HGH is one of our all-time best-selling items after generic GH—and that speaks volumes about the product’s quality, given that the average price of pharmaceutical GH is generally very high. A product like Lilly Humatrope 72iu HGH is in very high demand, despite its price of €379, because while it’s true that the total price is high, the price per unit is much lower than that of other pharmaceutical GH products, and the quality of the product is top-notch.
Let’s look at a practical example: Novo Norditropin HGH at 45 IU (one of the most “affordable” options) costs, on sale, €249, which is equivalent to €5.54 per unit. Lilly’s Humatrope 72 IU costs €379 on sale, which works out to €5.20 per unit. Pfizer’s Genotropin 32 IU costs €229, which, divided by 32 IU, works out to €7.15 per unit!
How is Lilly Humatrope growth hormone used and dosed?
This tutorial explains how to use Lilly Humatrope without the specific pen but with a simple insulin syringe (more accurate solution).

Lilly’s Humatrope HGH is sold (including on this website) in three different quantities: 18 IU (6 mg of product), 36 IU (12 mg of product), and 72 IU (24 mg of product). Regardless of the quantity, Lilly’s HGH products come with a large needle-less syringe (the plunger) containing 3.15 ml of diluent and a cartridge containing the active ingredient (growth hormone) in powder form.
Lilly’s growth hormone needs to be reconstituted, and it’s a very simple process: Remove the long cap at the base of the syringe containing the diluent, and you will see a needle. Hold the syringe vertically (with the needle pointing down) and pick up the cartridge, making sure the black triangles are pointing upward. Push the cartridge against the base of the syringe so that the needle fits securely into the top of the cartridge, and push until there is no more travel. At this point, hold the cartridge and syringe firmly together and push the syringe plunger until all the diluent has entered the cartridge. Then remove the cartridge very gently: the cartridge will now contain the active ingredient and the diluent, and from this point on, the solution is very delicate, so do not shake or agitate it, and handle it gently. Wait until all the powder has dissolved in the diluent (you may invert the cartridge a few times) until a clear solution forms. At this point, the growth hormone is ready for use. Given its delicate nature, store the cartridge in the refrigerator. The syringe can be discarded.
Use Lilly growth hormone with an insulin syringe.
In theory, the cartridge should be used with the special dosing pen, but this pen is A) expensive and B) not very accurate, especially at low doses. Ideally, an insulin syringe should be used; unfortunately, however, the scale on the syringe does not correspond to the units for the growth hormone in question, so a quick calculation must be made.
Let’s use Lilly’s best-selling product as a practical example: Lilly Humatrope 72iu.
The cartridge contains 3.15 ml of product, which is equivalent to 72 IU of Humatrope. 3.15 ml is 315 units on a 0.5 ml insulin syringe or 157.5 units on a standard 1 ml insulin syringe. Now, simply divide the notches by the number of units to find out how many notches equal a single unit (1iu):
1-ml syringe: 1 IU = 157.5/72 -> 1 IU = 2.18 marks
0.5-ml syringe: 1 IU = 315/72 -> 1 IU = 4.375 notches
- So, for example, if you’re using a 1-ml insulin syringe and want to administer 2 IU of the medication, simply insert the needle into the cartridge, draw up approximately 4.36 of the medication (2 IU × 2.18), and inject it (subcutaneously or intramuscularly).
- If, on the other hand, you are using a 0.5-ml insulin syringe (less common) and want to administer 2 IU of the product, insert the syringe needle into the cartridge, draw up about 8.75 notches of the product (2 IU × 4.375), and inject it.
You can use the same solution with insulin and other peptides; the mixture does not affect the product.
PLEASE NOTE that this is the procedure for using ONLY Lilly Humatrope. If you have generic GH, read the article on “how to reconstitute generic somatropin”; other HGH products, on the other hand, are already sold pre-reconstituted in the appropriate pen.
